OUR HISTORY

Over five years ago, a small group of Sephardic Jews felt that it was time to create a Sephardic Synagogue and revive the many Sephardic traditions and prayers for the sake of the many Sephardic Jews living Arizona. Shortly after, two Sephardic Synagogue emerged. In April 2006, the two Sephardic Synagogues merged into one renewed Synagogue named The Sephardic Cultural Center.

OUR GOAL

Our goal is to create a warm and vibrant community that is committed to preserve, cultivate and share the rich and beautiful customs, traditions and cultures of our Sephardic heritage.

OUR COMMUNITY

While we conduct our programs and services in accordance with traditional Sephardic Halachic requirements, the diversity of our congregation defies categorization, and all who attend receive the same respect and consideration, regardless of level of observance, knowledge or background. Congregants hail from far-flung communities as Iraq, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Yemen, Brazil, Israel, Canada, France, South Africa, Poland, Russia, and many other parts of the world. These diverse origins make the synagogue a dynamic, exciting, and unique place for religious, social, culinary, and educational experiences.

The S.C.C. has a policy that no one is turned away due to financial difficulties. Everyone is welcome to pray and participate in our activities.

Our services are held in our beautiful Synagogue at: 6120 E. Shea Blvd. Scottsdale, AZ 85254.
